Centrocercus urophasianus

Greater Sage- Grouse

Beifusshuhn

Males and females gather at leks (traditional courting grounds). The males attract mates with a display that includes inflating the neck sacs and then occasionally deflating them to cause a loud popping noise, throwing the head back, holding the wings rigid, and fanning the tail. Malheur County, Oregon, USA
