Phalaropus tricolor

Wilson's Phalarope

Amerikanisches-Odinshühnchen

The buoyant Phalarope swims readily. To obtain food, it spins in tight circles, up to 60 revolutions per minute, inducing organisms to rise to the surface, similar to what happens when you stir a pot of soup. It then pecks a variety of wetland invertebrates. Malheur County, Oregon, USA
